Grammar: Some “rules” for articles

You use the masculine articles der / ein for: |
• male persons and professions → der Mann, der Techniker • days and months → der Montag, der Januar • (alcoholic) drinks → der Kaffee, der Tee, der Wein • many words ending in -er → der Computer, der Drucker |
You use the feminine articles die / eine for: |
• female persons and professions → die Frau, die Technikerin • most words ending in -e → die Adresse, die Webseite, die Limonade • words ending in -heit or -keit → die Freiheit, die Möglichkeit |
You use the neuter articles das / ein for: |
• words ending in -ment → das Dokument •words ending in -nis → das Zeugnis |

Exercise 2: Fill the gaps with the accusative article and the nouns.
Remember: The accusative articles for masculine nouns are den / einen.

Tip: The information in brackets tells you the gender of the noun.

Remember: Start sentences with a capital letter and end with a full stop.
