In some verbs, the vowel changes from e to i, e.g sprechen, essen. However, only the du and er / sie / es forms change, everything else follows the regular structure. Another example is a → ä as in fahren, e.g. Der Teamleiter fährt nach Berlin. |
Ich spreche Deutsch. Du Er / Sie / Es Wir sprechen Deutsch. |
When you cut the -en ending, some verbs then end in t or d, e.g. arbeiten (arbeit-) or reden (red-). In this case you add an additional e for the du, er / sie / es and ihr forms. Otherwise it would be impossible to pronounce these verb forms. |
Ich arbeite im Büro. Du Er / Sie / Es Wir arbeiten im Büro. |
